Pupusas and an Apostle of the Lord

 Hey everyone! Some recent news is we just had transfers last week and I'm staying here in Menlo Park and got a new comp named Elder White! He's an absolute dawg and knew him a bit already and it has been an awesome grind in the work recently. A lot of awesome things are happening here in Menlo and a lot of pupusas that I have had because just about the majority of latinos we know and talk to are from El Salvador, which is great because the food is great and the people are hilarious. And speaking of El Salvadorians, our friend Carlos is from there and he has his baptism for this Saturday. However, last night he wasn't able to pass the interview, so we might have to postpone the date, but please pray for him to endure through the struggles he faces. Also a beautiful thing that happened was at our Spanish BBQ for mothers day, there was apparently a baptism going on as well for Elder Neil L. Andersen's grandson, so we ended up running into him, "on accident", and had a sweet quick conversation with him and some other missionaries ended up getting a pic of us. Super nice loving guy though but ya that was pretty amazing haha.

4 Weeks In, 2 To Go

 Hola mi familia y amigos Well sorry y’all for not writing for my first 4 weeks haha, please forgive my slacking, but I promise you’ll be hearing from me weekly from now on.    The virtual MTC (Missionary Training Center) has been going good though. I started on March 10th on a Wednesday. My companion and District are awesome, love them all to death. My companion, Elder Ashby is from Farmington Utah and couldn’t be more grateful to have him as a companion. The dudes a stud and has such a strong testimony of the Gospel. His nickname in the district is “Pops” because he’s the only one whose 21, which isn’t old at all, but because everyone else is 19, but also because he's like a true dad and loves saying “oh goodness” a lot haha. Embrace The Suck

  Que pasa todos ustedes!!! So my p-day got switched to wednesday's now. Also this is my last week in the CCM! Crazy how fast it has flown by, but I have learned a lot and am ready to head out to San Jose.  This past week and half was very up and down. We started out the week beginning to start teaching out of the lessons of Preach My Gospel in Spanish and explaining scriptures in Spanish which was a big step up for the District. It was really tough at first, but through more and more practice and trusting in God, I have made great improvement. A lot of times I felt like I was not doing as good in the language as I should and that my abilities weren't the best. But something that has really helped not get discouraged and to keep pushing is that your choices show who you are far more than your abilities and as long as we are making the right choices and putting in the effort a step at a time, having faith in God, good outcomes will arise.  This past Saturday The District and I s

Good Herbz and Gerrari

  Como estamos todos!! All is going well in San Jose California! I have been serving in East San Jose for about 6 weeks and almost 9 months on the mission and the transfer has come to the close. I love the Yerba Buena(Good Herbs) ward and the members are great in helping out in the work and are hilarious. We have family home evening nights every other week and there is always fun Spanish karaoke and games with the members. I am District leader and training here and my comp Elder Nakaya is hilarious. He has a lot of work to do on his Spanish haha but he is a big go getter so it he has been progressing well. Also one of the nicest kids I know and always knows how to put himself in a good mood. We have 3 main friends that we are teaching who are all progressing well. Their names are Arturo, Ingrid, and Jaime.
