Divine Potential

Sorry it has been so long everyone! I'm still in Menlo Park and now 4 weeks into my 4th transfer here. I have a new companion again and his name is Elder Banks and he's a stud! He's a great example of love that he shows to all and has great high energy in getting the work done. 

It has been so cool to see all that has happened since I have been in Menlo, a big one being the baptism of Stefani Gurrola. She was so determined the whole time to not let adversity stand in her way. It was such a really cool spiritual experience to see the change of this family, starting from the parents, to her husband junior and then her, it's an experience I'll never forget. We went over to the house 2 days after the baptism last week and the whole time we could just see a countenance change in her. We asked her to give the closing prayer and she just smiled the whole time and gave an amazing prayer and the spirit was so strong to just feel and see the change of this light and the Holy Ghost upon her that she received. I know that the Spirit is so key in our lives and the greatest and most important gift I've received. I know it leads and guides us in all our decisions as we seek Jesus Christ in our lives and that it is a gift we receive through baptism for the remission of sins by the authority of God.

Something I have been working on lately is seeking and understanding my divine potential. A scripture that has really helped me with this and to use to share to others is Alma 26:11-12


11 But Ammon said unto him: I do not aboast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my bjoy is full, yea, my heart is brim with cjoy, and I will rejoice in my God.

12 Yea, I know that I am anothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will bnot boast of myself, but I will cboast of my God, for in his dstrength I can do all ethings; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.


We can accomplish ALL things through Jesus Christ. He will fill us with His joy and love as we put Him first in our lives. We will see ourselves grow in ways we never imagined as we put Him first. Something that has helped me to do that is the blessing of daily repentance. It is a blessing that can help us receive confidence, faith, and strength that our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ love us so deeply and see so much for us to grow and accomplish and change. I wanna invite yall on how you can put God first in your lives and let him do so.

Love yall though, and I'll try writing more often.

4 Weeks In, 2 To Go

 Hola mi familia y amigos Well sorry y’all for not writing for my first 4 weeks haha, please forgive my slacking, but I promise you’ll be hearing from me weekly from now on.    The virtual MTC (Missionary Training Center) has been going good though. I started on March 10th on a Wednesday. My companion and District are awesome, love them all to death. My companion, Elder Ashby is from Farmington Utah and couldn’t be more grateful to have him as a companion. The dudes a stud and has such a strong testimony of the Gospel. His nickname in the district is “Pops” because he’s the only one whose 21, which isn’t old at all, but because everyone else is 19, but also because he's like a true dad and loves saying “oh goodness” a lot haha. Shoutout to Elder Grothe, who isn’t the only Elder who everyone thinks is 35 haha. But all jokes aside, it's really because he cares more about our district than anyone else. Embrace The Suck

  Que pasa todos ustedes!!! So my p-day got switched to wednesday's now. Also this is my last week in the CCM! Crazy how fast it has flown by, but I have learned a lot and am ready to head out to San Jose.  This past week and half was very up and down. We started out the week beginning to start teaching out of the lessons of Preach My Gospel in Spanish and explaining scriptures in Spanish which was a big step up for the District. It was really tough at first, but through more and more practice and trusting in God, I have made great improvement. A lot of times I felt like I was not doing as good in the language as I should and that my abilities weren't the best. But something that has really helped not get discouraged and to keep pushing is that your choices show who you are far more than your abilities and as long as we are making the right choices and putting in the effort a step at a time, having faith in God, good outcomes will arise.  This past Saturday The District and I s

Good Herbz and Gerrari

  Como estamos todos!! All is going well in San Jose California! I have been serving in East San Jose for about 6 weeks and almost 9 months on the mission and the transfer has come to the close. I love the Yerba Buena(Good Herbs) ward and the members are great in helping out in the work and are hilarious. We have family home evening nights every other week and there is always fun Spanish karaoke and games with the members. I am District leader and training here and my comp Elder Nakaya is hilarious. He has a lot of work to do on his Spanish haha but he is a big go getter so it he has been progressing well. Also one of the nicest kids I know and always knows how to put himself in a good mood. We have 3 main friends that we are teaching who are all progressing well. Their names are Arturo, Ingrid, and Jaime.
